This guide shows you how to add your Easy Sites email address to Outlook on a Mac. The steps are for the current Outlook for Mac, which comes with Microsoft 365 or Outlook 2024.
Before You Begin
You will need these details. Replace yourdomain.co.uk with your own domain name, and you@yourdomain.co.uk with your email address.
- User name: your full email address, for example you@yourdomain.co.uk
- Password: the password for that email address
- Incoming mail server (IMAP): mail.yourdomain.co.uk, port 993, using SSL
- Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.co.uk, port 465, using SSL, signing in with the same email address and password
You can check these at any time. Sign in to your Easy Sites account, select "edit site", click "Domain", then "Email Addresses", and click the cog icon next to your email address. If we set up your email address for you, the details are also in the email we sent you.
Adding Your Email Address
- Open Outlook. In the menu bar at the top of the screen, choose "Outlook", then "Settings", then "Accounts".
- Select "+ Add Account".
- Enter your email address and select "Continue".
- If Outlook asks which kind of account it is, choose IMAP.
- Enter your password and the incoming and outgoing server settings from the list above, with SSL switched on for both, then continue.
- When Outlook tells you the account has been added, select "Done".
Outlook may offer to sync your account through the Microsoft Cloud. If it does and the account won't connect, choose the option to sync directly with your email provider instead, and enter the settings above.
If It Doesn't Connect
- Check the server name, ports and SSL setting against the list above.
- Use your full email address as the user name, not just the first part.
- If you're not sure of your password, you can set a new one on the Email Addresses screen in your Easy Sites account.
- If Outlook warns that the server's security certificate can't be trusted, please don't carry on. Raise a support ticket and our team will take a look.
